Career and College Promise (CCP) Info. 2024-2025

What is CCP?

DDCC has an excellent website that provides a wealth of information about CCP including a slide show. Here are the links:

Mrs. Anissa Wall is the DDCC CCP Advisor for South Davidson and is located in the High School Office.

KEYS TO SUCCESS:  STAYING ORGANIZED & FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS

Students have multiple after school activities and responsibilities (athletics, clubs, work, etc.) which can make it challenging to remember when assignments are due.  In the Moodle Course, there is a calendar that shows the assignments and due dates.  Students should print that out or write down the information on another calendar for the entire course.  It is highly encouraged that students purchase an 8.5 x 11 inch planner such as Walmart Planners.  A student can use different colors for their classes.  This way it is easy to see what is due next next and prioritize what needs to be done first.

Our CCP students often have a "learning curve" in the beginning due to not being organzined and therefore not submitting an assignment by the deadline which results in a zero.  Professors do not allow students to turn in late work.  Also, our students produce high quality work but if the directions aren't followed, it will result in a low grade or even a zero. Students should read and re-read directions before and after completing assignments.

Important CCP Information/Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can a student login to the internet using a chromebook at DDCC?
Click StormCloud and there should be a white box that pops up - says something about Proxy
Click the link at the bottom of that white box where it says to login if you already have an account.

  • How does a student start and complete the registration process for CCP classes?

  • How do students know where classes are located if they are not taking them online?

  • While tuition and fees for the DDCC CCP classes are covered by the school system, the student  must pay for books and any course materials.  The South Davidson Media Center has textbooks that can be checked out (at no cost) for ENG112, PHI240, ENG232 and ENG242 on a first come, first served basis.  Students can access and pay Follett Fees (for course materials) through the Student Finance link on their StormTrac account.  These fees must be paid by the first day of class or the course will be dropped.  The list of courses for Follett Fees can be found here.  Follett Fees   ***DDCC is changing from Follett to a new provider- late spring 2025.
Students may purchase textbooks from other locations but need to be careful that the exact same book is being ordered.

  • Does your student have exceptional math ability?

  • What classes at DDCC meet high school graduation requirements?

  • Can a student get college credit at DDCC for Advanced Placement (AP) classes?

  • How do I know what classes to choose? What are the courses in the College Transfer Pathways?

  • My student wants to go beyond the pathway and earn an Associate's Degree.  What else is needed after he/she completes the Pathway?
